Voice biometrics: your voice as proof of identity
A caller who has given consent records a short voice sample. On later calls, the Alphacall assistant compares the voice with the stored profile in the background, with no questions about ID numbers or passwords. We are rolling this out in pilots, together with protection against voices faked by AI.
How it works
- Consent and enrollment
The caller agrees to biometrics and speaks for a few dozen seconds. An encrypted voice profile is created.
- Verification during the call
On the next call, the system compares the voice with the profile during an ordinary conversation.
- Protection against fakes
A separate model checks whether the voice is a recording or AI synthesis.
- Decision by your rules
The result feeds into your process: access to the case, an extra question or a handover to an agent.
Where it fits
- hotlines that must confirm identity
- banking and insurance
- public administration and public services
- case handling where it matters who is calling
Why Alphacall
- models trained on telephone-channel conversations
- deepfake protection: we build voice synthesis ourselves, so we know how to detect it
- biometrics only with the caller's consent, in line with GDPR
- can be deployed entirely on the customer's infrastructure
Security, data and legal compliance
The assistant always tells the caller that it is an AI system (Art. 50 AI Act), does not make decisions on behalf of people and can hand the call to a human at any moment. The whole solution can run on infrastructure in your country or in the EU, including your own data center, on our own speech recognition, conversation and voice synthesis models. We prepare every deployment in line with GDPR.
Frequently asked questions
Does voice biometrics work without the caller's consent?
No. A voice profile is created only with explicit consent. It is special-category data under GDPR.
Can it be fooled with a recording or a voice clone?
That is why we deploy it together with detection of recordings and AI synthesis. We measure effectiveness in a pilot on your data.
What is the difference between verification and identification?
Verification answers whether the caller is the person they claim to be. Identification among many people falls under stricter AI Act requirements and needs a separate assessment.
